Kācima is committed to being welcoming to every guest — on our land and on our website. Please reach out to us directly if you have any specific needs; we will do everything we can to accommodate you.
Our commitment
We believe that nature, rest, and community should be accessible to all. Whether you are visiting us at the retreat or browsing our website, we want the experience to feel considered, human, and inclusive.
Kācima strives to ensure that our website meets a reasonable standard of digital accessibility, aligned with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA where possible.
Website accessibility features
Readable contrast
Text and interactive elements maintain sufficient contrast against background colours to aid legibility.
Scalable text
Text can be resized in your browser without loss of content or functionality. We use relative font units throughout.
Semantic structure
Pages are structured with meaningful HTML headings and landmarks to support screen-reader navigation.
Keyboard navigable
Interactive elements are reachable and usable by keyboard navigation without requiring a mouse.
Image descriptions
All meaningful images include descriptive alt text for screen-reader users.
Reduced motion
Our site respects the prefers-reduced-motion browser setting, toning down animations for visitors who prefer less motion.
Known limitations
We are a small team and our website is developed with care but not with a full-time accessibility engineer. There may be areas that fall short of ideal standards. If you encounter any barrier while browsing kacima.space, please tell us — we treat accessibility issues as priority fixes.
Physical accessibility at Kācima
Kācima is a natural, partly-rural property on organic terrain. While we have made efforts to ensure comfortable movement across the retreat, the property includes outdoor pathways, grassy areas, and structures set within a working grove. We are happy to discuss your specific mobility or accessibility needs before your visit so we can do our utmost to prepare for you.
Please contact us at contractkacima@gmail.com to discuss any requirement — dietary, physical, sensory, or otherwise. Every conversation is held with discretion and warmth.
Assistive technology
Our website is designed to work with screen readers, voice navigation software, and browser zoom. We test periodically with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and aim for compatibility with NVDA and JAWS on Windows as well.
If you experience a problem with our site using any assistive technology, please tell us which technology you are using and what you encountered — this helps us fix it faster.
Feedback and contact
Accessibility feedback is genuinely welcome. If something on our website or at Kācima is not working for you, we want to know.
Write to us at contractkacima@gmail.com and we will respond within 5 business days.
Ongoing commitment
This is a living statement. We review and update it as we improve the site and the retreat experience. The goal is not compliance as a checkbox — it is hospitality as a practice.
